"The funny thing is I was a really good kid because I was raised extremely strict and I was working a lot. My mother wanted to be really, really careful because in this business, it's easy to go off the deep end, but I think that it worked against her because when I turned 18, I had been so sheltered for so long that I just exploded! I am glad I did because it teaches you a lot about yourself. Now, I've got it out of my system and I am ready to settle down."
How did her explosion manifest itself? "I hopped on a tour bus and I got engaged to a rock star," she laughs with just a hint of embarrassment about her own antics. "It doesn't get much crazier."

And after the Scottish paper interview we have the Irish one. Here's some excerpts:

On her career at an early age: “But my mom never pushed me to do things I didn’t want. She’s an actress and a movie geek. So she got it. She was tough. But that’s good. This business can be hard. But still, it’s not always fun when you’re a teenager and you just want to have fun. I appreciate it now.”

On taking sometime off to find herself: “I had to find things out for myself,” she says. “I never let myself get carried away. So, I took that time out to find myself. A lot of times I had to ask where we were. We’d get off the bus. ‘Oh, this is Belgium.; Okay, let’s enjoy that.”

On Marylin Manson (yet again): “He is exactly as he seems,” she says. “That’s to say he’s the Marilyn and the Manson. He is what he represents on stage. He’s that 24/7. One of the things he prides himself on is that his life becomes part of his art. But also, on the other side, he’s really hilarious. I get it that people are interested in that. It’s totally fine.”

During her latest visit to the UK Evan has been very generous with interviews so yet another one from scotsman.com. Below a few extracts:

On her childhood: “I was always kind of marching to my own drum, and I was always the black sheep. People think when you’re an actress and you’re beautiful that you must have had it so easy and, if anything, it made me feel more of an outcast.” 

On the fame: “It’s hard because if you could read any note that’s been passed about you, or hear any bad thing anyone’s ever said, if I wanted to, I could hear it all. When you’re happy with yourself, it doesn’t matter what people say about you, and I think that was my problem: it will get to you if you have some issue you haven’t dealt with.”

On her sexuality: “I knew there was this side of me that I had my whole life and I hadn’t explored it, and I wanted to do that. Because I want to know myself and I wanted to be confident in that area of my life. And I certainly did that,” she smiles, “and it was great. And then I felt confident enough to come out with it, because I’d explored it, and I knew that it was real and me, and that there was nothing to be ashamed or afraid of.”
Had she been unhappy keeping it a secret? “Yeah, because you’re unsure and it’s terrifying. When you’re in the public eye it makes it scarier because you don’t know how people are going to react. But that’s why you have to be you. You’ve got to be you.”

Funny interview from the English show T4. Evan looks kinda tired but she behaves gracefully as usual and manages to show off a Taekwondo move!

Metro UK interview

New Interview for Metro UK, not quite as good as the Guardian one.
It has some interesting bits about Evan coming out to her parents:

‘It’s always one thing to say that  and it’s another to be presented with it. They dealt with it really well but it is always hilarious talking about sex with your parents. Whatever sexuality you are, they don’t really want to acknowledge it either way. So they were fine with it but they don’t really want to talk about it.’

and Manson:

"Are they still in touch? ‘We’re friendly,’ she winks. ‘As friendly as two exes can be."

Ides of March - Guardian Interview

I extracted some excerpts from the interview, but you really have to read it because it's one of the best I read lately, the link is at the bottom of the post.

About George Clooney: "He's kind of an Across the Universe geek,"
