Daily updates

The shooting for "A case of you" for Evan finished on Friday (apparently Justin and the crew were still filming during the weekend) and she was seen leaving her hotel in Manhattan in her cutest indie attire on saturday.

Yeah, I know.

Here you can find a new-ish interview, probably from NYFW where they "chat about her beauty philosophy, the designers she can't get enough of right now, and why she takes olive oil baths (!!). "

And finally the return of the KaraokeNinja!!!

I'd have you anytime by Evan Rachel Wood - Video - Official Post

We finally have some news about the "I'd Have You Anytime" video, apparently the early version I posted wasn't meant to be online because it wasn't the final edit. The old post with the links to the video has been deleted and you will find the final versions here.

Today's release of the final version of the videos marks the celebration of George Harrison birthday, had he not passed away in 2001, today would have been his 69th birthday.
The video final version is available here for two days then it will be published on the official Amnesty Youtube channel where you can find also the short documentary on the making of of the song.

If you haven't yet go listen to the "Chimes of Freedom: The Songs of Bob Dylan Honoring 50 Years of Amnesty International" record on Amnesty site, it's pretty great :) and if you want to support the cause buy, if not the whole album, Evan's song, at least you'll have the high quality version and you'd have given a dollar for a very good cause :)

Following Evan's full statement on the project from the official Amnesty Press release:
"I'm very proud indeed to have sung "I'd Have You Anytime" for the new album of Bob Dylan compositions commemorating the 50th anniversary of Amnesty International. Among the musical artists I've always admired are Bob Dylan and the Beatles.   When I was discussing with Martin Lewis what Dylan song I might record for Amnesty’s anniversary album, he mentioned that though Dylan primarily wrote alone - there was a little-known song from 1968 that was a writing collaboration between Dylan and one of the Beatles.  I was intrigued about that.  Martin played me the song and I really liked the beauty and sensitivity of it.  Having sung several Beatles compositions in the movie "Across The Universe" - I felt an immediate connection to the song.   Martin then mentioned that he had an idea to have the song arranged and recorded in a late 1930's Billie Holiday style.  I totally love Billie Holiday's voice.  So now I was looking at a recording project that had elements of Bob Dylan, George Harrison and Billie Holiday!   As a fund-raiser for a great cause.  It was just meant to be! I loved recording the song and I'm thrilled with how the finished track sounds.  Knowing that George Harrison's work as a humanitarian helped inspire some of the fund-raising work for Amnesty International and that this track therefore honors George Harrison as well as Bob Dylan and Amnesty makes this really special for me.   I hope that people get pleasure from the work we did in recording this song and music video.  And that people will buy the track to help raise funds to support Amnesty's vital human rights work." Evan Rachel Wood - February 2012

Teen Vogue interview

Evan was interviewed by Teen Vogue a few days ago, here are some highlights (click on the link for the complete interview)

"From a young age, I've always liked my pale skin. People used to call me Casper when I was young, but I didn't really care."
"One day I'd love to get behind the camera—that'd be cool. I have to write an autobiography. I look back on my life experiences already and think, This is crazy—I have to write a book! I definitely want to have a family and just keep doing what I'm doing, working with interesting people and always taking chances."
I'd so read that book.

And an adorable picture from the Vogue's Guns N' Roses Party last night. Thanks to fuckyeahevanrwood.tumblr.com for finding it :)

- Finally an article from Elle in which this can be read:
“And I love my short hair so much, I don’t think I’m ever going to grow it out.” When we give her an incredulous look, Wood flashes a mischievous smile and quickly adds, “Well, at least not for awhile.”

Evan on set - A Case of You

I'm cold for her just looking at the pictures, but doesn't she look awesome?!

Plush got a distributor!

According to Deadline.com EOne secured the rights to a good number of movies, at the European Film Market in Berlin, and Plush by Catherine Hardwicke was one of them!
This means that the project is probably going into preproduction soon!

And if you're not excited about the project, read this:
In Plush, Wood plays a rising rock star in a downwards spiral after losing her band mate and brother to an overdose, while her second album is a critical and commercial disaster. She embarks on a relationship with her replacement guitarist and finds new hope, but trouble lurks.

Evan at Solve Sundsbo video installation opening

Evan attended the "The Ever Changing Face of Beauty" video installation by Solve Sundsbo opening at the Park Avenue Armory on Valentines day in NYC. (Chris Evans was there too!)
I LOVE the hair! what do you think?

Evan in "The Necessary Death of Charlie Countryman"

It's been a week of big announcements for Evan: "Plush",  "A case of you", "Fragments" and now "The Necessary Death of Charlie Countryman".
Variety announced that Evan will join Shia LaBeouf and Mads Mikkelsen (the bad guy from Casino Royale) in this next project.
Here's the movie summary from the press release of the project back when it was first announced in 2010:
Charlie Countryman (LaBeouf) was just a normal guy… until he fell in love with the one girl who will probably get him killed.  When Charlie meets the absolutely irresistible Gabi she’s already been claimed by Nigel, an insanely violent crime boss with a gang of thugs at his disposal.  Armed with little more than his wit and naïve charm, Charlie endures one bruising beat down after another to woo Gabi and keep her out of harm’s way.  Finally his exploits of blind valor create such a mess that he’s left with only one way out; to save the girl of his dreams, must Charlie Countryman die?
"Absolutely irresistible Gabi" and Evan's been casted for the role. It fits perfectly.

The shooting of the movie will be later this year in Hungary. Hungarian fans beware!

Evan to star in the Marilyn Monroe tribute doc Fragments

Screen Daily reported that a star studded documentary about Marilyn Monroe is in the works, Evan will join the cast among Uma Thurman, Viola Davis, Lindsay Lohan, Paul Giamatti, Ellen Burstyn, Lili Taylor, Zoe Saldana, David Strathairn, Jennifer Ehle, F Murray Abraham, Vanessa Shaw, Michelle Monaghan and Gretchen Mol. So many names.
The cast will bring voice to an array of Marilyn related material gathered from the Arthur Miller estate, Truman Capote estate and beyond, including poems, letters and diary entries written by and about the icon.
Garbus said of the film: “We’re working with amazing material. It will go to the heart of Marilyn and express some of the aspects of the woman which have not been touched on before. The actors will convey Marilyn’s fears, anxieties, the men in her life, agents of both good and evil, and the context of the world she lived in. Marilyn was foregrounding her sexuality in a world that wasn’t quite ready for that and her struggle is palpable in these texts. We also discover how hard she worked at her acting and her passion for the craft. “
Producer Buchthal added: “We thought about one big name to read as Marilyn but wanted to celebrate her in a different way. The poems and letters opened up a very different Marilyn Monroe to the one we have seen before. She was very well read, for example, and far from the frivolous blonde she was sometimes made out to be. That is what was exciting to me. Not enough people have taken her seriously as a serious person. This film uncovers how insightful, poetic and interesting she was”.
Buchthal co-edited the archive book Fragments - a major source for the film - which sold 600,000 copies in 22 countries.
Currently in production, the film is set for delivery by Aug. 5, 2012, the 50th anniversary of Monroe’s death.
The project looks interesting though I'm always skeptic, when it comes to Marylin, that no imitation can do her emblematic figure justice. But since this is a documentary based on real historic material I think we can hope for a great homage :)
What do you think about it?

Evan starring in the new movie "A Case of You"

Variety just reported that Evan is in the cast of the new Justin Long movie "A Case of You"!
The movie is written and produced by Justin Long (he's a Mac) and is starring also Peter Dinklage, Keir O'Donnel and Busy Phillips.
Here's a short summary of the plot:
"The story revolves around a young writer who tries to impress a girl he meets online with an embellished profile, but finds himself in a real mess when she falls for him and he has to keep up the act."
I love romantic comedies, Justin Long is pretty great, there's Evan and NYC...I'm in.
What do you think about it? Do you like the project? Raise your hand if you wish for a rendition by Evan of the famous title song in the movie ;)

And on a cuter note

Evan in the new Catherine Hardwicke movie Plush

The rumors we talked about a few days ago have been confirmed, The Hollywood Reporter posted an article about the possibility of Evan and Catherine Hardwicke to team in a coming up movie, supposedly an "erotic thriller set in the L.A. music world." The project will be introduced to buyers at the Berlin Film Festival in a few days and then we'll probably know more about it!
