Evan in Les Miserables? Yes, please.

The buzz about this has been around for a while but according to The NYPost it's official now, the race for the role of Eponine in the movie version of Les Miserables is down to four choices and Evan is one of them.

An interesting analysis about the candidates has been done on the Washington Post...here's the excerpt about Evan:

Pros: She’s probably the edgiest choice; as that aforementioned source noted to the New York Post, she “brings her indie cred.” She’s also a fine actress, and may make the cutest match with Eddie Redmayne, who is set to play Marius and currently stars opposite Michelle Williams in “My Week With Marilyn.”
Cons: Like Johansson, it’s a little hard to imagine her being the sort of girl who begs for a mere kiss on the forehead on her deathbed.
I completely agree with the Pros and the Cons, well, they are really not Cons in my opinion, as if Lea Michele and Taylor Swift can easily pass off as poor starving girls.
I'm confident in the power of make up and costume to make Evan the perfect Eponine...what do you think? I personally think the cast is so great I will for sure be quite excited to see this movie anyway...I bet Evan would absolutely love to star in this though.

Thanksgiving news and cuteness!

Finally it's been revealed the project for which Evan sang a George Harrison song back in September(if you remember she tweeted about it)!
It's a Bob Dylan tribute album for Amnesty International 50th anniversary with 72 tracks and so many amazing artists, all the details can be found here. Evan will sing I’d Have You Anytime and...if you don't know that song just listen and think about what Evan could do with that...January 24th will never come soon enough.

On another note, Evan and Jamie were going back to LA for Thanksgiving yesterday and this twitter celebrity interaction happened

I always find this quite funny, celebrities are just fans of each other like we are of them :)

I'd like to wish a happy Thanksgiving to all the American evanholics out there, hope you have a wonderful day and always thanks for the support!

Kate Winslet on Evan and new Aussie interview!

The awards season is just beginning and on Variety we already have an interesting "Actor on Actor" article by the lovely Kate Winslet in which she praises Evan's performance in The Ides of March.
"Evan could have gone very hysterical with this role. She could have dressed it up much more than she did and been more showy. But she looked like an intern. She looked like a girl in an office. Evan kept that character human. She was just a girl who had got herself in an uncomfortable situation. And I felt as though she played the honesty of that scenario. She didn't resort to any clever diverting tactics that could have added other colors to the character. They would have been, in my opinion, the wrong colors. Evan is smart enough to know not to go down those roads.I am a very big fan of her opening scene with Ryan Gosling. Pretty much everything that came out of her mouth was not a statement. It was a question! I was like, 'Wow! One. Two. Three. Four. Oh my god! Eight. Nine. Oh my God!' Her last two lines in the scene are not questions and that's pretty much it! I was quite taken aback by that. As an acting thing, that's very difficult to do. Especially in a scene with one other person who happens to be a man who you need to let the audience know you are inevitably going to be having some kind of relationship with. She covered so much in a tiny scene. Also, there's the scene with Ryan in bed when there's the mixup with the mobile phone -- the way that she handled that scene was incredibly graceful. She could have gone all-out hysteria. It could have been an ugly, ugly scene to watch. But what she did very cleverly was force us to listen to her and to sympathize, to emphasize. That scene pulled me deeper into the movie."

Evan Aussie interview

Some interviews from the Venice film festival are still being released...and we're never tired of anecdotes about the Ides cast getaway at Clooney's lake Como house.
Here's a few excerpts:
''I am a black belt in taekwondo,'' she explains, when I ask of her sporting prowess, ''I used to compete. We were at George's house in Lake Como and he has a basketball court. I teamed up and actually challenged him. They beat us - but it was close. I had game, I got it.''
''I was always, if anything, a bit snobby about fashion,'' she says. ''I didn't realise there was a real art to it, that it could be used to express yourself … Now I'm fascinated by it.''
"'George had promised me, since filming, that after we premiered the film we'd jump in the pool in our suits and dresses,'' she says, revealing that she entertained guests with rousing renditions of Janis Joplin and Tina Turner numbers at the after party. ''Everyone chickened out. And I thought, 'No, I'm doing it'. I thought, 'You guys are missing out, this is amazing'. I was floating in the middle of a pool in Venice, staring up at the stars. It was magical.''

News and Pics!

So apparently Evan didn't attend the Celebrity Charade in NYC last night, I don't know why it was listed as a participant, I guess she was just invited but never RSVPd :)

Anyway two more photos taken during the Abu Dhabi trip have leaked, don't know if they will be included in the photoshoot for next month Vanity Fair or they're just teasers, but to say that she looks awfully good is an understatement.

Latest news!

  • All the NY Evan fans should check out this. I'd pay solid gold to be able to attend it(and apparently people will have to pay exactly that since it's a benefit event an tables are hugely expensive) anyway Evan will be there so I hope some of videos/photos will leak and we'll be able to enjoy a small amount of hilariousness ourselves :)

  • On another note a nice interview from Evan, taken last friday, talking about the different roles in Ides and Mildred Pierce

PFZ - Paparazzi free zone

Maybe you're wondering why this site hasn't been updated with all the latest paparazzi pictures/rumors about Evan that have been floating around the web lately, why all the pictures of Evan and Jamie that pop up on gossip sites aren't neatly sorted and uploaded on here for your viewing pleasure.
Well, I've always thought that artists are entitled to their own privacy, that their life must be crazy enough without mercenary photographers standing creepily outside their window or following them to the dentist.
So I decided to keep this blog free, as much as I can, from invasive paparazzi pictures, this doesn't mean I won't ever post any, just that I will sift through them: e.g. Evan strolling around town, Evan arriving/leaving to/from events YES; Evan leaving the dentist, visibly annoyed Evan NO

I know this policy won't benefit the visits to my blog, or the curiosity of readers that will be able to find those pictures pretty much anywhere else very easily, but it's a decision I made when I opened the blog and I was confronted with the choice to post paparazzi pictures or not.
Obviously I don't think that this will help much on keeping down the spreading of those pictures/rumors on the web but it's just something I don't feel like doing to an artist that I like so much.
Hope you'll understand :)
Thanks for reading this.

AFI Fest 2011 - Young Hollywood Roundtable - Article

While we eagerly await for some kind soul to upload videos from the AFI roundtable from last Friday, the most interested in the topics discussed, more than the cuteness displayed, will certainly dig this article.
I cut out some quotes from miss Wood to make your reading easier. You're welcome :P
And check the video after the cut too!

- Wood revealed that, like most fellow fourteen year olds, she was a fan of Clueless and while she was filming Thirteen, Jeremy Sisto (who had played Elton in Clueless) drove her home and all she could think was how cool it was to have Elton driving her home, just like he did with Cher (Alicia Silverstone) in the film (but without Sisto abandoning her in the Valley at the end of their ride).
- (With Wood whole-heartedly agreeing) Yelchin had a very specific view of Hollywood thanks to a trip to a “restaurant/arcade/sex shop” with his uncle near the Knickerbocker hotel when he was five and witnessed a group of punk kids walk up to someone’s table and take a bite out of their cupcake.

LACMA Film Gala - Pictures

The Los Angeles County Museum of Art (LACMA) had an inaugural Art + Film Gala honoring Clint Eastwood and artist John Baldessari at LACMA yesterday night.
Evan attended with a egyptian 1920s inspired gold and black look. I love the retro hairstyle!

AFI Fest 2011 - Young Hollywood Roundtable - Pictures

Yesterday Evan joined Armie Hammer, Anton Yelchin and Kirsten Dunst at the LA Times Young Hollywood roundtable.

Waiting for videos from the event enjoy this quote and loads of pictures after the cut...do I need to say she looked stunning? I personally don't like the dress very much but if anyone could pull it off it's her.

“Has everybody seen Clueless?” Wood began. “Jeremy Sisto played Elton, drove Alicia Silverstone hoem in that movie. He drove me home in Thirteen.”

Her Hollywood moment was much more innocent though. “As a 14-year-old, that was a big moment for me, man. I look over, I see Elton driving me home and suddenly I was Alicia Silverstone, although I was walking into something totally different. That was pretty awesome I’ve got to say.”

“When I filmed Thirteen I saw Requiem for a Dream for the first time and that really inspired me in that role. So working with Darren [Aronofsky in The Wrestler] was pretty incredible. I’d like to say it was when I worked with Pacino, but it was when I was doing Thirteen.”
