"The funny thing is I was a really good kid because I was raised extremely strict and I was working a lot. My mother wanted to be really, really careful because in this business, it's easy to go off the deep end, but I think that it worked against her because when I turned 18, I had been so sheltered for so long that I just exploded! I am glad I did because it teaches you a lot about yourself. Now, I've got it out of my system and I am ready to settle down."
How did her explosion manifest itself? "I hopped on a tour bus and I got engaged to a rock star," she laughs with just a hint of embarrassment about her own antics. "It doesn't get much crazier."

On her career at an early age: “But my mom never pushed me to do things I didn’t want. She’s an actress and a movie geek. So she got it. She was tough. But that’s good. This business can be hard. But still, it’s not always fun when you’re a teenager and you just want to have fun. I appreciate it now.”

On taking sometime off to find herself: “I had to find things out for myself,” she says. “I never let myself get carried away. So, I took that time out to find myself. A lot of times I had to ask where we were. We’d get off the bus. ‘Oh, this is Belgium.; Okay, let’s enjoy that.”

On Marylin Manson (yet again): “He is exactly as he seems,” she says. “That’s to say he’s the Marilyn and the Manson. He is what he represents on stage. He’s that 24/7. One of the things he prides himself on is that his life becomes part of his art. But also, on the other side, he’s really hilarious. I get it that people are interested in that. It’s totally fine.”

During her latest visit to the UK Evan has been very generous with interviews so yet another one from scotsman.com. Below a few extracts:

On her childhood: “I was always kind of marching to my own drum, and I was always the black sheep. People think when you’re an actress and you’re beautiful that you must have had it so easy and, if anything, it made me feel more of an outcast.” 

On the fame: “It’s hard because if you could read any note that’s been passed about you, or hear any bad thing anyone’s ever said, if I wanted to, I could hear it all. When you’re happy with yourself, it doesn’t matter what people say about you, and I think that was my problem: it will get to you if you have some issue you haven’t dealt with.”

On her sexuality: “I knew there was this side of me that I had my whole life and I hadn’t explored it, and I wanted to do that. Because I want to know myself and I wanted to be confident in that area of my life. And I certainly did that,” she smiles, “and it was great. And then I felt confident enough to come out with it, because I’d explored it, and I knew that it was real and me, and that there was nothing to be ashamed or afraid of.”
Had she been unhappy keeping it a secret? “Yeah, because you’re unsure and it’s terrifying. When you’re in the public eye it makes it scarier because you don’t know how people are going to react. But that’s why you have to be you. You’ve got to be you.”

Metro UK interview

New Interview for Metro UK, not quite as good as the Guardian one.
It has some interesting bits about Evan coming out to her parents:

‘It’s always one thing to say that  and it’s another to be presented with it. They dealt with it really well but it is always hilarious talking about sex with your parents. Whatever sexuality you are, they don’t really want to acknowledge it either way. So they were fine with it but they don’t really want to talk about it.’

and Manson:

"Are they still in touch? ‘We’re friendly,’ she winks. ‘As friendly as two exes can be."

Ides of March - Guardian Interview

I extracted some excerpts from the interview, but you really have to read it because it's one of the best I read lately, the link is at the bottom of the post.

About George Clooney: "He's kind of an Across the Universe geek,"

Evan has declared in many interviews that she has been nicknamed "Hard Drive" by Ryan Gosling, the reason is because in between takes on the Ides of March set they enjoyed to guess movie quotes and Evan was a real talent.

So it seems that the people at Twitter headquarters have too much stuff to deal with to occupy their busy day trying to understand if EvanRachelWood1 is an original account or a fake.
Apparently the exchange of messages with the verified Jamie Bell or the fact that she posts pictures of herself from the corners of the world don't matter to them...and you know what? I don't care either, as long as she keeps on posting these cute videos to prove her identity, I bet the Twitter fellas agree with me.

As every film Film Festival/Award celebration worthy of that name the ADFF had a very luxurious gift lounge for the actors and directors to take away almost anything they liked...for free...even a personalized Moet Chandon Champagne Magnum bottle.

Evan Rachel Wood, in town to support The Ides of March, also found Darmaki's stilettos irresistible: she chose two pairs and spent 20 minutes chatting to the shoe designer. Her Palestyle clutch was a favourite, and she chose to wear her Bil Arabi bracelet then and there. As for the week-long holiday at a Fairmont location offered to each of the stars, Wood chose Cairo with no hesitation: "Definitely Cairo," she proclaimed.

Elle's Women in Hollywood celebration - Who run the world? Girls!

The 18th annual Elle Women in Hollywood Celebration will be held on October 17th at the Four Seasons Beverly Hills Hotel; according to the latest news Barbra Streisand will be honored with the L'Oréal Paris Legend Award. 
Additional honorees include: Viola Davis, Michelle Pfeiffer, Naomi Watts Jennifer Aniston, Frieda Pinto, Evan Rachel Wood, and Stacey Snider.



The award will honor female achievement in film and tv and surely for Evan it's been a great year professionally!

Evan on Chelsea Lately - Video

So Evan stopped by Chelsea Lately yesterday night to give us this hilarious interview. Chelsea basically asks her everything that's already been asked her in the last few weeks of promotion from Ryan Gosling to the nude scenes on Mildred Pierce, from Justin Bieber to the skinny dipping in lake Como...but the result is way funnier than any other interview I saw lately.

Evan at the Abu Dhabi Film Festival

It's been confirmed that Evan will be at the Abu Dhabi Film Festival on Friday to promote the Asian release of "The Ides of March".

I don't know if she will attend the London Premiere on October 19th since she's due to appear at the Elle's women in Hollywood celebration in Beverly Hills on the 17th, I will post more info about that in the upcoming days.
